Bringing Healthcare to Those Who Need It Most

Amedica is committed to providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare to communities in Haiti.

Where do we begin?

Medical Care for the Americas (AMEDICA) is a comprehensive and dignified healthcare initiative dedicated to the countries of the Caribbean and the Americas. We are a social and humanitarian branch of the International Network of Christian Doctors (Med&Christ).

Our institution is committed to protecting the health of the most vulnerable, with a multidisciplinary team covering all medical fields.

The primary goal of AMEDICA is to provide medical services in areas where access to quality and dignified healthcare is limited. Since our founding in 2015 by final-year medical students from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), under the leadership of Dr. Gardy Helve, we have grown as an extension of the vision of the International Network of Christian Doctors, consolidating our work under the name Medical Care for the Americas (AMEDICA).

In eight years of humanitarian work, we have provided care to over 100,000 people, offering medical services, psychological support, donations of medicines, clothing, and health supplements. We have carried out more than 500 medical missions across 40 provinces and hundreds of communities in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

MISSION

Provide healthcare services and medical attention to those in greatest need, making quality healthcare accessible to individuals with limited resources.

VISION

Educate the communities where we work, promoting a healthy lifestyle to prevent diseases. Additionally, provide necessary care to patients, empowering them to take charge of their health and family well-being.

GOALS

Our main objective is to positively impact morbidity and mortality statistics in the communities we serve. To achieve this, we aim to:

  • Implement disease prevention programs.

  • Educate and raise awareness among the population about their environmental vulnerabilities.

  • Train individuals as health information multipliers.

  • Collaborate in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients.

Community Impact

Hear from those we've helped in Dominican Republic and Haiti through our healthcare initiatives.

Fundamedica has transformed lives in Haiti, providing essential healthcare services to those in need. Their dedication is truly inspiring and impactful for our community.

"AMEDICA has been a blessing for our community. Their medical missions have saved lives and brought hope to many families. They have been a great help and collaborator for my ministry in the medical-social field, allowing us to impact more people in various provinces."
